@videoinsightfoundation – ETS — a non – profit institution and pioneer in promoting ART as HEALING for the MIND and BODY— launched the BLOOM Open Call on January 4, 2026 with a deadline of July 30, 2026. This initiative integrates Sculpture and Performance.
Artists were invited to defy gravity and the boundaries of matter by creating lightweight Sculptures designed to be worn and inhabited upon the head — reimagined here as an installation pedestal.
Blooming for Well-being
The BLOOM exhibition evokes the act of blooming: an existential imperative.
The Performance
The winning Sculptures or Installations — symbolic extensions of thought and emotion — will take center stage in a transformative, therapeutic Performance. Rather than being displayed statically, they will be worn on the head by CONTEMPORARY HYPATIAS — heirs to an ancient name and living embodiments of timeless qualities — in an exclusive Performance where body movement breathes new life into the artistic objects. The head – the center of the nervous system and seat of the psyche – will become a living pedestal for artistic creations that uplift, emancipate, save, and heal. The artworks will translate concepts and symbols — linked to spiritual growth, rebirth, and the upward projection of the Self — into sculptural forms.
Like HYPATIA — the ancient Greek astronomer, philosopher, and mathematician — the CONTEMPORARY HYPATIAS possess talent, merit, empathy, inner light, genius, and vision. They seek not martyrdom, but mastery and wisdom; they share ideas with the intelligence of the heart. They are friends in life; they harbor no envy or rivalry, believing firmly in intellectual sisterhood. They exist in harmony with culture and freedom, recognizing and valuing beauty. They are the cartographers of a new human geography. They favor depth, drive, courage, and the inspired gesture.
The Performance will take place during ARTISSIMA 2026 at the headquarters of the Videoinsight® Foundation – ETS (Via Ferdinando Bonsignore 7, Turin).
